ultra-creative : )

shot my arm against a white background - used PS to resize the image to lifesize and create 3 overlapping crops - desaturated the 3 new images to 0%, 33% and 66%, printed and taped them up on a black background - cut a hole in my background and in a clean sheet of paper - arranged my hand through the holes and shot about 40 pics before i hid the hole and liked the shadows - thanks to all who like my shot, and a big fat BLEAGH to everyone else!

Cool photo - makes me think of Escher's work. I like the seamlessness where the hand peeks out and how it still looks like it's on the same plane as the other arm pieces. Great execution. shedonist 9

Cute, but the tapes ruin an otherwise interesting image. 6 paganini

Bumping this up to 8... It's just too cleverly done.

Very creative, I am sure that you will place in the top two. Can't decide between this one and the chess board, both excellent illusions and well shot.

nice effect. I like the changing color tones as well. karmat

Awesome! This has got to be in the top ten at least! 9/10

I think this is well done, immaginative and different. To me, this counts as an illusion. 8

Very nice. Looks like you had some printer problems on the lower part... Great idea. 9 waltoml.

Real good shot. Good and clear. Good focus. Only see one off-set. Good job.

Some of the skin textures on the arm are really ugly, and you need a new b&w cartridge, but the idea is unique and creative, so I'll overlook it.

You really must see a doctor about this condition. 7 JEM

Oh nifty!! I like it!

waaay cool. and very clever. I hope the hand isn't yours cause I can' imagine how you took the picture if it is. My eyes are completely fooled. I can't see how the real hand gets up. I only wish that the ring had been on straight instrat of twisted to the side - 10

Easily one of the best in this week's challenge. seasick - 9

I just can't stop looking at this. wonderful
10/28/2002 10:39:00 PM
Excellent job! You spent a lot of time on this I can tell. I especially like the varying degrees of color saturation fading out to B&W in the photos. Nice effect. 10

The more I looked at this, the more I liked it. Very well done.

AWESOME! GREAT ILLUSION! 10--shutterfly

Great illusion! A couple things don't quite like correct, the lines through the lowest part of the arm and how it doesn't quite match up, but otherwise, this is terrific!!!

Quality image, nice 'illusion'! I thought that this was a difficult challenge, I guess the creative juices weren't flowing as I had decided not to participate. This is a great idea, and makes me want to smack myself, 'Why didn't I think of that!' :O) Shelia I gave it a 10!
10/28/2002 09:49:00 AM
Neat. I like it.
