 My son Ty helped me out with this one. I like the way it came out and I really hope I can get above my average and start this year's free study off on the right foot.

Yes I stood above the rim with the camera. I was about 18' up. Hence, the facial expression on my son. This was the 2nd or 3rd shot I took. My original idea was to get a ball in the net and call it "Swish", but this shot was much better. Like most of my ideas, they usually evolve away from the original intent.

Looking through for sports ideas -- searching for basketballs and hoops, etc. Came across this one and just had to tell you how wonderful it is. What an incredible shot!

Wow, this is a brilliant image - I would never have thought to use that angle, but I love it! My son thinks its extremely cool too - he also plays basketball.

Great composition and angle! I like the expression and eyes. The hood helps to direct the focus to the face as does the overall composition. My favorite so far! 10

Nicely done. How on earth did you get atop that basketball goal? LOL Nice composition and perfect focus. Even though he's far away, those eyes are tack sharp.
