His (or her) backside, upside down. Usually you see these in a web, but I walked into this web by mistake (yuck!) and ended up destroying it. This is him just starting to build his new web. We watched for a while in amazement as he cast his line to the wind, it stuck to the other limb and then he reinforced it to anchor the web. I always wondered how spiders did this! Fantastic!

When I took the shot I didn't know I had so much interesting detail until I opened it up on the computer. It was horribly windy, so I feel lucky to get a clear shot. I like the shot despite what happens in voting. I am clueless to understand how to win a ribbon here at DPC anyhow. :)

In PS, I cropped, adjusted color, D&B, adjusted levels, sharpened, ran NN and saved for web.

I'm giving this a 10, but I'd really rather NOT see it on the front page all week. at least it isn't a snake.

Not sure what part of him or even what I am seeing, assuming it is a macro lens you need more DOF on this

When you can see the thread that the orb spider is spinning it becomes a fascinating shot. The wonderful editing that you have done with the spider and the back ground makes this a fabulous shot. Hopefully the more experienced photographers will realize the time that you would have had to put into editing this photo. Very nice.

wth is that? lol.. I think I flushed something like that last night lol. Anyway in seriousness.. gorgeous colors.. nice focus.. would have liked to have seen both of its front.. pokers.. or whatever they are in focus.. IT's left one (the right one to us) is a little too blurred.

Fantastic rich colors and capture. This little guy looks like he is floating in air. Hope it is doing better than mine photo.
