Top 3 for me. This shot screams silence.

Yeah Chinese Whispers does mean that. In this case, I used the name because it was taken in a courtyard in Chinatown. The whispers refer to the once-noisy, populated yard that now stands silent and empty.

Thanks to everyone who voted and commented. For better or worse, every comment helps me keep learning and trying to get better.

Congrats to everyone who submitted to this competition, there were so many amazing photos.

So it's a courtyard. To be honest with you...I thought it was a tiled floor in a weird room of some kind. That blue object there I thought was a rubber doorstopper with what looks like swingdoors behind it. I thought maybe it was a Chinese public restroom or something and I thought those gray planks that run along the sides was a turnstile or barrier of some kind.
But don't be surly Biff....anyone can make a mistake with interpreting things hey.

Idiom Definitions for 'Chinese whispers'
When a story is told from person to person, especially if it is gossip or scandal, it inevitably gets distorted and exaggerated. This process is called Chinese whispers

But I just cannot connect the image to the title and I just cannot fathom out how it conveys the feeling of silence. 4

Personally, one of the best photos in the challenge. Love how you melded the light with the shadows. But the best for me is how you were able to capture the texture of the 2nd and 3rd floors. Saving as a fav and voting a 9. Excellent job!

Really evokes the emptiness that no one is there. I like the concept.
