I'm intrigued by this device! It's an old video camera, yeah? Awesome.
The photo itself is lacking, though. : ( Lighting is pretty flat, and the main subject is crocked in frame.

I remember that model. We used to have one way back too. But I remember that although they were silent movies the machine itself was not silent at all and made quite a whirring noise when running. But still..it does convey the concept of silence for this challenge. 5

I like the idea, but I'm afraid it didn't work for me--I remember these being so loud!! Now if the film had gotten all tangled up and wouldn't work anymore--no sound, period, I probably would have rated it very high.

Neat concept, but the composition is weak and cluttered. I know from experience it's difficult to shoot such objects though, especially when trying to work in their accessories, such as the film reels. Just as a thought, maybe you could place a person in the picture, and have him/her putting the film on the projector or something. Or just try using the rule of thirds, or play with some interesting angles... Hope this helps! :)
