I gave this an 8 and the purple cast is all that kept it from scoring higher.
(I would have guessed Pinus contortus :) ) |

Texture and HDR - Nice. Seems to have a purplish tint on my uncalibrated monitor. Angle is a little disorienting to me. |

Nice finish, Dick Richard! I love the title, and I like the way you've chosen to render the scene. I'm curious to see you're calling this a Ponderosa. I don't doubt that you're right (you live there after all, you *should* know, and I'm sure you do) but every Ponderosa *I've* ever seen, or heard of, is very tall and very straight of trunk... Is this a different variety of the family, or have I just been blinded by stereotype?
Regardless, congrats on your top 10!
