To those who commented they didn't like the lipstick, I agree. Believe me, she doesn't wear lipstick.

It was her idea, though, and sometimes kids do like "dressing up" as older than they really are. And since she was willing to put up with me shooting her at all, I went along. Besides, as she repeatedly told me, it's lip gloss, not lipstick. ;)

But still, I love this shot, and it captures her personality quite well.

The second shot from the series that includes:

My favorite of the group, Jeffrey. Course, you know what a soft spot I have for the fiery-headed ones. I hope hers does not fade ... like TJ's has. It is still defined by others as red ... just not as vibrant as it used to be.
Love the rollin' eyes and the crop.

This is my fave out of the series. And good for you for letting her wear the gloss. She'll look back at this one day (when well past her teens hehe) and get a good chuckle out of it :)

Oh, I know all about girls needing to "dress up". lol. The 4 year old is crazy about it and loves her 'lipstick' (Just flavored lip gloss in her case though). I thought about it after commenting, but then left it anyway as I'd already said it and figured eh, it still stands. It's not that there IS lipstick, just that it becomes the focus of the shot. Too bright and shiny, you know?

Anyway, girls. Eesh.

This is just an opinion but my eye went directly to her glossed lips rather than the background. The sheen of the gloss is too bright and catches too much light for me to focus on things like the glasses or her expression.

Very nice portrait. Lipstick seems out of place on such a young girl though (may have been meant to add to the "attitude", but I think the rolling eyes would have sufficed nicely, especially for those of us with teenagers. Great lighting and focus :) 9

The lipstick is over-done and very out of place here, for me.

Was it two or three shots before your angel started rolling her eyes? Nice capture.

The model, the colors (INCREDIBLE hair), and the attitude are stellar, but overpower the "glasses". And I wish the lipstick wasn't so obvious on such a young subject.

What a lovely model! She looks like ms. innocence or maybe mischievous... at the same time... :) Tough to tell and that is one of the reasons this is such a gorgeous image. The fiery red hair, beautiful big eyes an soft skin tones makes this. I gave this a 6 on my first pass but feel I need to upgrade it to an 8 now that I look at it more closely. Great job!
