 This is my friend Myia and her husband Bruce. She asked if I could take some photo's of the family before Bruce left on deployment. I totally blew out his cover (hat for non military) and I'm not sure how to fix it. My ISO was at 400, forgot to check that before I started to shoot, mistake that won't be made again. The color version just wasn't working for me so I went with black and white with an orange filter. Then I warmed the photo a bit using color balance.

Portraits are not my strong point. However I think this year I might focus on doing a portrait for each free study and see how I improve over the year.

Oh, you were SO totally robbed by the voters! I mean, I can see this not winning a ribbon but to finish in the middle of the pack with this well-lit, superbly processed, utterly unaffected and very beguiling portrait of two obviously-in-love people is ridiculous! And only two comments during voting, besides mine? This was one of 3 10's I handed out in this challenge.
