| Whenever I see one of these I remember that day as a child when I picked one up and it bit/stung me really hard. I still love insects though and this one is fabulous. Colours, comp and subject are perfect. Superb. |

hey ingrid .. i noticed this in the challenge and also after voting finished ... i should'v made a comment before now because its one of those amazing images that stay with you long after you've seen it .. in fact it was talked about in our household and wow'ed over .. !! ..
the first thing that hits me when i see this is those extraordinary colours .. so beautiful .. and nearly straight away the amazing focus on the praying mantis .. then of course comes the absolutely perfect depth of field .. it couldnt have been better .. the crop and composition .. bravo . !!
so congratulations on a great finish in the best of challenge and i'm sure your little praying mantis will do extremely well in the gem .. thankyou for your comment on my entry, which you obviously know was mine .. i did a run thru and noticed your little guy but wasnt voting at the time .. that will be rectified . !!..:)
