 Taken at a local reservoir. Took me 4 days to finally get the one I went with, which gave me some good exercise since there's around 200 vertical feet and 1/3 mile walk from the parking area down to here. Each day there were different problems: first day my flash batteries died and I didn't have replacements (the sunset on this day was better too, unfortunately). Footprints in the sand on another day. Colorless sunset on the next day.
The sand is actually more of a dirty white/gray color. Lighting was a single SB900 gelled and right of camera fired remotely.

I was noticing another debate about titles in the forums, and your image came to mind as the perfect use of title guide the viewer to recognize the themes in the image.
