A beautifully disinigrating moth/butterfly I noticed in our old fountain one morning. One month later the wings (broken into more pieces) are still there.

crop, curves, changed color balance and sat to be more cyan-green, cloned out a black thing in the water by the wing which was really distracting, burned the wings and edges of water, smart sharpened, border, resized.

Voters might score me down for the center composition (since for the most part it is anti-photography to do centered things) but I really think it works best here. Also, you can still see the dead fly and the random wing and leg when it's composed like this.

Love the idea, and the way you carried it out. Beautiful.

Nothing really dies, just absorbed by something else...

You really presented a unique find in a most interesting composition - Centered works well!

Excellent image, well done for seeing something beautiful there. The centering works well for what is essentially an artistic take on a specimen shot :)

6 - Like this. I do like that this is centered, but wonder if it might have been even stronger less centered (or maybe a framing variation (more rectangular))... but your call. (PS - Thanks for the spelling lesson)

I wish all DPC insect shots were this good! No, I suppose I don't because then I might not enjoy this one as much as I do. Great title, BTW.

all you need is a reflection of someone in the water and you have "Silence of the Lambs":) i like the texture in both the wings and the stuff floating on the water

Bad day to me a moth! I like the colors and centered placement of the subject.

This has to be one of the most original photos in the challenge and more interesting for its originality. Thanks for taking a risk with it.

Yuck! But very good job of it! I wouldn't have thought you could make this look so good.

Sadly beautiful. That wing/leaf to the side off sets the centering of the moth.

Very well composed. Kind of a morbid shot and I like it!
