 Thought a magnifying glass might prove reasonably interesting in between me and my subject. Played around with some shots outdoors which were interesting, but not quite what I wanted, so I started over with the cacti for some nice texture.

PP - converted from RAW, slight rotation, cropped, increased contrast, duotone, added border, resized, sharpened.

Wonderful. I love absolutely everything about it: lighting, tones, shapes, subject. The sharp (no pun intended) detail of the thorns, and the soft focus of the magnifier. Oh. Would front page if up to me, but the nontraditional crop my offput some.
