Levels, cropping. I was photographing birds on the beach all afternoon, then I set up for a sunset. My eye caught a movement behind me. There was this fellow motoring along the beach. It made a very willing model and kept on coming closer. I got the idea that the focus "beep" of my camera attracted it.

Greetings from the Critique Club...

I was not able to vote on this challenge, but if I had, I probably would have given you no less than a 7.

My first thought is that the crop you have chosen is perfect for this photograph. The side lighting is probably what makes this shot because it really defines the foot prints in the sand, and gives three dimensions to the turtle. I love the contrast between the sharp details of the sand in the foreground against the out of focus sand in the background. Zero complaints. Great shot and great finish.

If you need any clarification on any of my comments, please feel free to pm me. It might take some time for me to get back to you.

Nice picture! Very interesting to look at and nicely composed. Just a bit too narrow in aspect. 8.

This is a really nice shot! Unlike so many other photos which have the "orb" thing as bokeh, this photo brought a big surprise! Also, it's a tortoise and not a frog (thank goodness for a change!). I love the composition. It shows the distance the tortoise has walked and the trail it is leaving behind. Great shot and great colour! 10!

Like the leading line.

How did you get such a good focus on such a fast-moving subject???
