i think it could have been amazing if the photo of the dad was staring straight ahead. Would have improved the mimick to a larger extent. It is a nice photo however.

Each time I see this on the front page... the more I like It! I really think this is an amazing capture... it's one of those that I wished I had taken, and probably one that I will try in the future! good inspiration. if I were to critique I would wish that the backgound blur was maybe just a slight touch cleaner. The current DOF really seperates the photo from ur pops( and that is good!) but for some reason I would like just a bit more detail on the man that he is now... about 4.??ish instead of 2.8 maybe? I think he looks like a good man. (& he looks a little bit like Bill Clinton could look in a few years)

A perfect blend of yesterday and today. Fabulous feelings evoked, though none of the sadness that often accompanies time frame photo essays. Beautiful.

excellent focus and DOF, well cropped, like the toning. lighting of the background could be enhanced, the shadow at left distracts

Well...I don't know. I kinda feel bad not giving it a 10 as it's a great photo and a great idea. It's just not jumping out at me. Screw it: 10

There's a lot to like: the sepia, DOF, square crop. The only thing that's bothering me is the dodge on the lower left side of his face. Wait, this is Basic, that can't be a dodge ... must have been the lighting. Still, wonderful entry!

Wow, very nice portrait. I love the use of DOF, it really makes the picture powerful. I also like it in black and white. There's kind of a white shadow behind his right ear, but I'm not one to nitpick on little things like that. Awesome photo, very well executed. 9

I love the concept of this photo.
The only thing that bugs me about it (its a personal thing) is that I would have preferred the photo to be out of focus and the man in focus. Since the man represents the present and the photo is the past. I still gave this a 8
