 Top 10? Hmm.. not bad for an hours worth of work.

'Basic Editing' ruleset + my reluctance to crop + approaching deadline meant I kept the harsh leaf in the lower frame. I dunno, I kinda like the contrast...

BTW, this is a Parade Rose, the buds are quite tiny...

absolutely stunning image .. i like the contrasts too and that amazingly beautiful colour .. love the way you've got so much in focus, all the most 'important' parts .. everything about this is totally perfect .. everything ...WOW .. !!..:)

i first thought this was an eyeball. Nice picture but doesnt 'pop' enough if you get me. It would look good on a wall to be admired for a few seconds but i think the large dark part at the bottom right doesnt really serve a purpose, maybe a sqaure crop with the centre of the flower to one of the sides would have been more appealing... to me at least :)

My first thought was that this is a beautiful flower, when I looked at the lower part I felt the blown out bottom leaf really hurt the mood the rest of the photo conveys 7.
