Well well. Surprised this did this well considering I was afforded 5 minutes from a 2 year old boy to take this shot. We went for a stroll along the lake close to home and I was fortunate enough to see this opportunity with the log boom set off the shoreline. The "zen" aspect was purely consequential resulting in a well displayed wristwatch and a blurry arm due to a 25 second exposure. I could see the makings of a cool shot and thought the inclusion of a person (me) would help make the image more "DPC".

Thanks for the comments, the praise and the forgiveness of the technical niggles.

this is a beautiful picture.. seriously. Would have liked even more if the white was not overexposed

I gave this an 8 - apparently you were critical of the same things I was. Very well seen. Like the colors too.

After considerable contemplation, I have bumped this extraordinary image up two levels: it is, as of now, one of two tens I have given in the challenge.

Obviously, forethought in producing this image was given. Great idea.

The color, the lines, the light, the texture and the blocking of this image are all great.

One of the few high earners within this challenge.

Interesting shot, not like the 'norm' kudos to you.

Fantastic composition!!! I hope this finished in the top 10, I love it but it's up against some outstanding shots which is why it's an 8 for me.

Would love to see a version of this without the man. I find he complicates this beautifully simple looking image.

Great use of negative space in this photo. I really like the lighting and the gradual color change. If i were to offer criticism it would be two things: 1. Get rid of the watch and 2. Somehow dont show what i guess is the ground and rock under the water. Great idea, and great execution. 7

I have no idea how you did this but no matter where I begin looking at the image, I am drawn back to the man and the center. Cool effect.

Great shot, and beautiful symmetry (except the watch ;-) ). I love the disappearing horizon. It looks like three things converging on the central object.

I like what you're going for here but would like to see what the photo looks like without the model, and then the 2 arrows leveled

I'm still trying to figure out what's in the water ;)

There's great symmetry @ work, here. Brilliant, simply brilliant!

has a lot of stock potential I'd think, at least as a concept

I love the diffuse glow that runs through-out the frame. The lines perfectly define the frame and keep the eye occupied. The only time in all my viewing and voting that I appreciate a top and bottom black frame. Thank you for keeping it very small! Congrats.

The man helps to "anchor" the shot, but I can't help but think I would probably like ti more if he weren't in there. . .

Wonder what it would look like with the subject more high key? Just thinking out loud. This is awesome.

Nice composition. Breaks the rule of halfway horizon with a purpose. Tiny nitpick, ditch the watch. 7
