Trying to get a “back to where life began” effect here. Don’t know if it'll work. We’ll see..
The child is part of an Anne Geddes baby from one of her wonderful photographs. I photographed it through a marble which was wrapped in a blue paper tube. Held my fingers over the paper to make some lights/shadows.
It was a real pain to do because I was holding the paper tube with the marble in one hand with the camera in the other. Can’t count how many time the darn marble fell out. Ended up using my D50 because it wasn’t killing my arm and shoulder as much as the D700.

Here we go... I'm sorry, Irene. It seems the whole kettle of fish has now been opened. *sigh*

I'm sorry.

Being one of the DQ'd as well and seeing some of the others in all challenges....I am really questioning the rules now. As Fmalan has said, I've seen the same thing happening in a lot of photos in challenges throughout this site who have done far more with photos in photos! It seems that we're walking very fine lines and no one really knows where that line truly is because so many get away with so much but, get one person who thinks it's "illegal" questioning it and it's considered "illegal" all of a sudden.

It's becoming a sort of damned if you do, damned if you don't type of scenario. Damned if you don't do some really amazing things and damned if you do because it could be considered illegal if someone questions it. I'm not even sure why one cartoon shot got to stay and the other one didn't! *SIGH*

If it makes any difference right now, I liked this shot!

You were hosed. This should not be a DQ.

To me, this DQ seems overly harsh... And at the other extreme I often feel uncomfortable with people photographing "flying gold fish" which end up just being a glass jar with a glossy print of a fish hovering above.
A fairer rule could be to demand that it should be clear from looking at a photograph what part(s) consist of pre-existing photographic content. In which case this photo might still get a DQ, but at least then it'll be more consistent.
My condolences; this isn't a nice thing to happen, and IMHO certainly undeserved!

Wow I do not understand this DQ when so many other people (even in this challenge!!) use photos as props. Weird.

Interesting idea, don't think the idea of time travel is explicit here. At first I thought it was supposed to be like looking down the barrel of a gun, a la James Bond, and so I thought that somebody's superpowers were to shoot babies. Maybe I shouldn't vote right after I watch movies?

Little Jimmy Bond, eh? Nice idea.

Not sure this shot presents super power, If I didn't read the title, which I do at first, I wont be able to tell what kind of super power it is,
I hope my critique is taken a positive way, all the best.
