Playing with words, the concept and hey! christmas is close.

Sadly, I didn't have time to make another shoot with the same idea. I could make the lights a bit better, but anyway...

Cropped, and tweaked the colors and such.

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: Unfortunately, this capture is really lacking from a technical standpoint. I do like the idea, and I LOVE naked women, but I think that the focus is a bit too hard to find. That coupled with the overly warm red tones of the image leaves this one a bit short of strong execution.

Lighting: Interesting, but just not a strength. Its really hard to say what would have helped you achieved the lighting that you were after in this one. Perhaps some fill flash, not much, then a little bit quicker of a shutter speed.

Composition/Content: I like the content, and I like the idea. I think that the composition would have fit this one well if the execution of the shot had been stronger.

My Opinion: Nice play on words, but you missed the challenge by a mile. It specifically called for an image that used lighting from behind your subject, meaning that your subject was between you and your primary lighting. Even still, I like the idea. I think that this one was scored pretty accurately.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

Thanks for all the nice comments! Unfortunately the execution didn't go as I wished... just had a bit of time to try the concept out and this photo was the best one that came out. It's not nice for the model to be being burned by the lights while I was worried about the light and the composition and those things :P
I wanted to make another session but no time :/

But well... it was fun :)

I see I was wrong as to whose entry this was. More than one person had the same crazy idea.

I'm guessing that this is from Snaffles. What a great take on the challenge! If you can't ribbon, might as well spoof it big time! You get my Blue shoehorn for this humorous take on the topic. And a fave. I want to be able to find this one again.

I love the play on words - after looking at dozens of macros of glass, flowers and fruit - this is very welcome!

I am all for out of the box thinking, but I don't think it follows the guidelines clearly stated unfortunately. I am sure you are prepared for that though!

Ok, got to say that I really do not find anything good or interesting about this photo... except that you took the challenge name totally out of context. I find it hilarious. Nice one.
