I took the photo real close to the red flower (maybe 8 inches away), to get the most of it, but without loosing the sunset.

I'm sure that by now, others have left the same feedback I would have, but if they have not, I will leave a good description after the challenge of why I have to give this a rare 2.

out of focus..

Looks like autofocus was fooled by the intense light; so the main subject is badly blurred. If the camera allows it, try manual focusing.

maybe you should use a macro lens next time

It's a nice idea but there are a few things wrong IMHO
The image could be a bit bigger, 640px, which would allow more detail.
The image can be 150kb which will also allow more detail, try altering the compression % when saving or the "save for web" if using photoshop.
The focus is off, the bright sun will make it hard for the camera to auto focus, you could try moving the camera around until it focus's correctly.
You could have got lower and blocked the sun with the flower which may have worked better.

All I can say is that it is horribly out of focus and the lighting is horrible.

The green tint to the photo is very distracting and doesn't add anything to the photo. The main subject is also out of focus.
