I'm very picky about selective desaturation images. They can work really well, but it is a technique that I find overused as well (I have overused it many times myself). In this image though, I find it particularly effective, as it draws attention to the leaves nicely. The strong lines of the bench/deck give the shot a nice geometric feel as well. Great photo.

I've always enjoyed this image - I am partial to a bit of selective desaturation if done well. This is done very well indeed. The coloured leaves are emphasise the contrast between the natural and the man-made. I also like the framing of the image, the way the bench converges on the corner. An under-rated image I think, one of the first challenges I voted in. I gave it a 9.

Very nice lines. I think the foreground could stand to be cropped a bit, to just near where the step meets the edge of the frame.

Very nice shot. The bench seems incidental, but the overall comp works.

Subject doesn't make me want to linger but the composition makes the most of it. Strong diagonals rescue the subject somewhat.

The selective desaturation makes this.

My kind of shot - great lines and angles and the touch of color from the leaves is excellent.

That looks like a really time consuming desaturation job
