Challenge: Where In The World Is Art Roflmao? (Advanced Editing VII*)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4.0 AT-X Pro DX
Location: Kyoto
Date: Nov 16, 2008
Aperture: f11
ISO: 100
Shutter: varied
Galleries: Architecture, High Dynamic Range (HDR)
Date Uploaded: Nov 18, 2008

This will be a tough one to explain because I did so much to it and undid so much...but here goes.

Bracketed 9 shots
Converted from RAW
Photomatix to combine the images
Topaz Adjust for a surreal feel
Glamour Glow (Color Efex Pro) with opacity turned down
Contrast Only (Color Efex Pro) to bring back some of the whites.
Selective dodge on the left and right wooden panels and at the front of the church.

I know that some will hate or love it...(I hope some will love it) but in the end I love it so it's all good regardless of the score.

I really your shot and feel it's been under rated.
I would like you to have a look at a shot of mine which is also of a church interior but not done in HDR. Mine was taken as a single image in Jpeg and also did not do as well as I had hoped in a challenge.

I sat and admired this for quite awhile this afternoon and apparently forgot to leave a comment. REALLY an excellent example of how to properly use HDR (in my opinion) to get the most out of a tough lighting situation. This is a gorgeous place and you really did it justice.

I am amazed this didnt score higher. I am sure without people intentionally bringing down your score, you wouldve won.

A well executed photo in what is often very tricky lighting conditions. You have managed to get good colours, and avoided the lareg Underexposed and overexposed areas which often happens in Church photography.

Beautiful shot - not necessarily an "Art" type shot, but I really enjoyed the lighting and contrast.

Nice pic but doesn't really have anything to do with Art R., IMO.

Beautiful shot! 8.
The reference through title is nice, but the picture could be more suggestive, and it would be a 10 for me.

WOW! This is gorgeous!! The light coming in from the stained glass windows and the 3D feel to it ... wow. Pillars seem a little distorted from the wide angle but the idea of the church closing in on him adds a nice hint of surreality to this. I like it!

Confession, huh? I'd be in there for an eternity!! :-)

I like the picture very much, but only the picture's name makes the link with the theme of the challenge.

wow. gorgeous shot. shame it does not have more to do with the challenge by having some connection to Art. I will give you a 6 just for the beauty though. If this was a free study, this would be a 10. (darn...now you are going to use an out take in the free study and knock my image out of the park...lol)
