 The effect of the sky was done with Cokin Filters, a mauve GND filter for the sky and an ND filter to lengthen the exposure.

Carquinez Regional Shoreline? Beautiful foreground -- love the silky texture on the water. The sugar factory gets in the way of those nice bridge lines in the distance and the landscape hides the south tower of the new bridge. A horizontal shot may have worked better here if you had a wide enough lens to capture both the pier and the full sweep of the bridges.

Gorgeous colour palette! I'd be inclined to clean up the two specks on the water, but other than that, I'd be jumping for joy at taking this shot. Congrats!
