 I was preparing to leave a friend's house and her dog was just sitting there all ready for a picture. I just grabbed the winky (G9) out of the car ans snapped one off. It was set to jpeg so I switched it to RAW and he blinked.

Jpeg from G9, hue/sat, levels on layers and a light gaussian blur on a layer. resize and USM

I love this shot. There's no way this one should've ended up this far from the front. It is very well composed, focus is dead on with perfect depth of field, great colors, just beautiful! I want you to know I gave you a 9 in voting. I voted on all of them and I typically don't give many 9's or 10's for that matter but you definitely deserved a better finish. Keep up the good work.

I'm not normally impressed with pet portraits generally but this is really pretty. Photographing her/him in the garden provides an attractive, interesting setting, as opposed to a blank background and shot of only the face. The colours of the flowers are lovely too.

I love this picture. I am very sentimental about border collies. Mine passed away last year. My best friend. Great shot. great colors. Good composition with the off center crop.
