Thanks Team Loonie Bin teammate VitaminB for suggesting the title and use of financial pages as bg!

Setup is home studio, new lightbox. New lights took a tumble, though, cause I'm clumsy. So had to use my ol' faithfuls which left a little bit of glare on syringe but so what. It's a 35cc horse syringe with an 18 gauge needle, and a page from Financial section of Globe & Mail as bg.

pp: RAW conversion, crop, curves, brightness/contrast, shadow/highlight, cooling filter, exposure, resize, usm, sharpen edges, contrast again, save for web

WOW! A top 10% finish...I am truly amazed that this pic did so well. Thanks to all for the comments and faves. Again, thanks Brad for the title idea (my original title was going to be Money is a Hit, from the Pink Floyd song). Woohoo! :-)

There's a lot of great euphemisms for the economy coming from this challenge. Another one I like.

I found this to be a very creative image, even more in the context of the current economic circunstances. It caught my attention right away and made me laugh too, as it was right on target.
The title, apparently obvious, works very well with it, providing the double meaning you certainly wanted to bring to the viewer. The oof newspaper as the background properly conveys such idea, and it's nice being in perspective.
I think it would give more dynamics to the image having the seringe not so vertical and central, maybe just tilting a bit in diagonal opposite to the bg.

That's cool and a unique take on the challenge. I just wish it weren't so centered. Did you try a diagonal composition? I always find that makes a stronger image.

I don't like needles :(( so scary...

Having something coming from the needle end could be a nice touch, a drop of thick, green liquid or something, but I like it.

Fantastic idea and well executed, the sharpness is great, especially on the needle (no pun intended.)
