i tried this shot once when i first moved here, and since i got my macro lens i've been wanting to do a reshoot. i was driving around and decided to come by here. i found a nickel in my backpack, however it was scratched up (which is why you see some fringing and stuff). also, i had to stop down to f/32 so that the building was somewhat recognizeable. that had two consequences. first, the shutter speeds got slow enough that i had to bump up my iso to 400 to prevent blur; this could have been prevented if i had two tripods... one for the camera, and the other for the coin (the nickel took up my tripod on this pic). the second issue was that at f/32, there was tons of sensor dust that showed up.
i'll probably do a reshoot at some point, using a shiny new nickel and two tripods. but, i won't have the ability to do it before the deadline for this challenge. so, this will have to do for now. |
