Sorry guys, another zoo shot. Not sure what to expect out of this, I like how the shot turned out.

My expectations are always too high, so my prediction is gonna be 5.8+, just to be above my current average.

I'm hoping for 6+, but you never really know.

Post-Challenge: Thanks to all for the great comments, I'm quite satisfied with how this ended up scoring. Sorry to those that feel zoo shots have no place in a wildlife challenge, my goal was to hide the elements of the zoo.

Thanks again for the awesome commments.

This image is absolutely stunning! I never would have thought to choose such a shallow dof; after seeing your marvelous results I sure will in the future :-) Beautiful B&W conversion, and wow what a great capture, her intent look is riveting. I LOVE this image! Congrats on your high finish :-)

great shot with a perfect focus! I'd love to see her left foot complete by moving the frame slightly to the right and down, but that's just a minor nitpick.

Whoa! What a heart stopper! To get a 6.56 with a zoo photo just shows how utterly fabulous the photography is here since I think the voters typically punish zoo photos. If this were in a "zoo" challenge, or animal challenge, or even a free study, my guess is you'd be over 7! Congratulations on having one of the coolest animal photos in your portfolio forever -- long after "who cares about the challenge" !

I love this shot and that's reflected in my vote which was a full 10. Pity it fell out of the top 10 but it remains a stunning capture.

Zoo or not this is still a wonderful shot. Love the way DOF was used to isolate. I gave this a 10.

Nice use of DOF – love those eyes! Only suggestion: I may have tried cropping out the bottom (as an alternative).

The intensity of expression that you have captured so well combined with the crisp focus really makes this. I am less sure about your choice of dof - it falls off a little too rapidly for my tastes and has resulted in a rather decapitated feeling.

Very nice DOF and I like that you converted this to B&W. Captures the cat's curiousity/prowl very well.

Neat! Not sure if you found him in the wild or not, but a great shot either way. I'd be curious to see this in color.

Superb capture of this predator on the prowl. It's like he almost comes at you out of the frame. The detail in his head is perfect and the background bokeh also. You really managed to capture that intent expression of being on the hunt in his face. And it works extremely well in black and white.

Astonishing looking face and build - it looks like it's designed to just melt away into the night, which I guess it is really . . D'oh
