Full frame shot (no cropping). This is actually some kind of sponge I found in my wife's make-up drawer.

I used my Sigma 105mm with a 50mm F1.8 lens reversed in front of it. Magnification approx. 2.25:1 ... 2/5 inch across.

I used my ST-E2 wireless transmitter to fire off my 550EX flash to get back lighting.

Maybe I'll post a pic of my set up later.

Processing ...

Auto Contrast
Levels
Hue Saturation ... colorized the whole image green (original had a yellow background). I found green more effective.

I considered removing the black specks but there were too many of them, and doing so would have felt too photoshopped for me.

Light at the back creates a feeling of being enclosed by this interesting organic tangled web. Good effect, amazing subject, feels scientific and academic.

Great macro of whatever that is. Love the green tone and the chaotic labirinth. Unless it was intentional, cloning out some of the black specs would make it simpler smoother image. But over all very well done.

Very interesting shot ... gives me an eerie feeling like I'm trapped underwater. I also like the variations in color.

The border hurts the image as a whole, I think.

Like this one a lot. The only thing that bothers me are the little black spots. Love it otherwise.
