The angle of the sun and the resulting shadows are spectacular. The colors of the bungalows look very natural but I question the sky even though you did burn it. Looks a bit over done (pun intended) in my opinion but it seems to work for the most part. Nice use of a vanishing point, as well.

This is an awesome photo. I love it. I've lived all over California my whole life and am sick of the derogatory things said on the news about it. Yes, the cost of living is more here. Yes, SOME people are egocentric and arrogant. Yes, there's smog and the governor is an actor, but I still think every negative word said is out of jealousy. CALIFORNIA ROCKS!...and its VERY beautiful and you have done it justice.

Thanks. Oceanside rocks too, btw.

My favorite so far. I love the composition with the pier in the background and the shadows of the homes. Clarity and colors are also well done. I predict a ribbon, but we'll see if I'm right!

Very nice. Have you used a Nikon D70 for this? I`m asking because there is some Moire on the roofs. 9 because of the moire, would have been a 10 otherwise.

An intriguingly surreal looking scene. Love the lighting, shadows and viewpoint. Sky looks a little too sharp a blue for me.

Very good work - I might have photoshopped (is that a verb?) in another palm tree in that empty area and cropped the white thing from the left side, but very nice.

I really like the soft colors and the bit of haze in this image and the repeating patterns of the houses and the shadows on the road. I am just wondering whether cropping a small bit of the left side would improve it further, or whether that is needed to stop the eye wanting to move further out of the picture. Good one anyway.

Great compostion. It has an almost surreal look to it. The blue is a little over saturated IMHO - but that's a matter of personal taste. This was one of my highest votes.
