Challenge: Overexposed (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM
Location: The driveway
Date: Sep 2, 2008
Aperture: f/4
ISO: 800
Shutter: 1/2000 second
Date Uploaded: Sep 2, 2008

This was a last minute entry and the shot wasn't taken with the challenge in mind. I increased the exposure in RSE and it looked OK. After the disaster of my Abstract B&W entry I figured I'd try again with my cat Furface - hey, it couldn't do worse - could it?

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

First Impressions:
The image lacks the overexposure that this challenge really calls for. Other than that the pet portrait isn't really that interesting IMO. The image lacks what it needs to really catch the viewers eye.

The fix:
I'm amazed that took 19th but most of the time it depends on what else is in the challenge. Take some time to think about what you want to shoot before you actually do. I read that this is a last minute submission and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. If you would have brought some more highlights into the image I think you could have scored better.

"F" for fabulous! I think it deserved higher - it was one of my top scores for this challenge. I love the attitude.

I think he means it... Not a patch on Larus's hunting shot, but you really caught the attitude.

Awesome capture. This over exposure almost makes the cat look likes it has been sketched on paper using pencils. Just stunning!

the "A" is for angry i guess.. fun shot, although i don't find it fitting for this challenge. It would do much better with the proper lighting! (8)

...with attitude! Great image and the overexposure enhances the subject beautifully.

Probably not overexposed enough to bring in the big votes, but man I dig this picture. That is one heck of a look you caught on that cats puss.
