 I expect this to have been one of many "eye/facial" entries in the challenge, hopefully one of the better ones.

Photo is of my youngest. I love her eyes. 640 pixels across doesn't do them justice. Had she been more patient model, I would have taken more shots in an effort to limit the degree of shadowing on her irises due to the lashes and lighting.

Re-did this photo too many times. Initially tried to push the contrast (curves) really hard to eliminate the tiny scab just to the left of her left eye. Finally decided against it in order to retain more iris detail.

Shot in raw, overexposed, selectively de-saturate/saturate and adjust WB for desired effect, curves, reduce noise, resize/crop, sharpen and add border. (or something like that)

I think maybe I'd have gone for an ever so slightly less tight crop, but the graphic effect is working very well.

Very nice PP here. I like the the sharpness and colors in the eye. The blue colors gives a feeling of deep blue sea or the earth.
