Crop, fiddles in Irf, convert to sepia, add frame....

No idea. (Maybe no best in my August. It was this or a very nice little dog or a reflection of me and mine and all the junk in our living room on the blank tv screen).

So it's a sort of spider on the done stalk and leaves of an opium poppy. The sepia brought out the veins in the leaves, but the colour version was full of nice pastels.

POST: Really didn't know what to expect, especially since I wasn't entirely sure I'd done my best with it - at certain times of day the sepia does look a little bit much. So I am pleased with positive comments and votes 5 and above. This is a friendly place.

Gorgeous. This is one of my "silent sevens"

What great textures here! I like it that the main thing that's really really dark is the spider. Well done.

I'm sure when you made the whole scene sepia-toned you were trying to minimise the distraction caused by all those leaves in the foreground, and get the shape of the spider to stand out more. Unfortunately, the subject still isn't strong enough for me: maybe a tighter crop?

for me its a little too much sepia going on.

Lovely tones, I wish the bug was larger so i could see it's detail better

I don't really like the processing on this one as it doesn't provide much in the way of contrast. Also, the crop could be tighter on the spider. There are some really great textures on that leaf, and I think that a lower angle could have made better use of them as a backdrop for the spider.
