I have wanted to use this old bed that was in the bush at my house, so I dragged it out sanded it and varnished it for the shot. My aunt Donna has a great horse named Jessie that fit the part perfect. We dragged all the bedding and bed up to her field and set it up. My great model and daughter Georgie was so happy to do this for she adores horses. Considering that we were working with a horse and a kid and a very bright day, the shot came out just like I had always imagine it. Thanks Donna for the great memories!!

Oh Laurie, this is FABULOUS!! You are brilliantly genius in thinking of this, setting it up and flawlessly photographing and processing this! 16th place is insane for this photo!

Very creative entry! The background takes away a bit from the “dream” effect. Still great!!!

beautiful - I know you can't control this but it would be sooo cool with fog along the ground. 9

Interesting set-up. Would love to know why the bed's in the field. He's a pretty boy.

this is an awesome shot, with a great concept. I just would have loved to see more color treatment. it's a little flat for me.

too contrived for me

Pretty surreal, but I like it. Would of benefited from some `fairytale` kind of post-processing, and I dont like the treeline where it is, not sure why but it splits the photo too much.

A lot of little girls would dream about doing this. Lovely work!!

The setup looks like it could have worked, but the pp'ing didn't take it to the next level. Using a gaussian blur or glow filter and darkening it a little would have made it conjure up images of a dream sequence.

Love the setup of this but find the tree line takes away from it. Now if you could have got "Sweet Boy" there in the bed that would have been a 12...lol
But still a 7 from me. Best of luck. Scott

bwwwahhahahahahahahaaa! Very cute and funny, and work went into putting the bed out in the field, etc, and getting that great horse to come up and say hi. 10

Very thought provoking. I'm sure you'll get a lot of comments.

I don't think I would ever think of (or go to the trouble of) setting up this shot. Great creativity.

I am very impressed by the effort that has gone into this !

This is an interesting and unique idea - very artistic. The colour of the horse goes well with the white pj's and bedding. Perhaps a closer crop would add to the photo - I think maybe the blue sky takes away from the rest of the photo. I also really like that the horse is nuzzled in with the girl - really lovely picture.

Definitely worth an extra point for the length you went to set up this shot!

interesting horse, he's beeeg! and a pinto going grey. the overall color seems a but flat and the shadows show that it was shot midday. fun concept.

Oh, wow, what an effort for this picture. Just for this, it deserves a high rating. Although there are some technical issues, this picture tells a beautiful story.10

A lot of effort went into this but the noisy background spoils it somewhat.
A deeper DOF would have helped.
