Fingers crossed. I'm not one for post processing, but I've recently found burn and dodge! Heaven! I love how those tools work. This will be the most processed photo I have submitted as a challenge entry.

I don't have the amazing luxury to owning a horse, but there is a ranch near my hometown that I instantly thought of for this challenge. I took this picture from the other side of a fence as you can see in the photo.

I'm looking forward to seeing the other dpc'ers photos!

Lol Leenie, 1s and 2s will creep their way into your scoring histogram no matter how hard you try - but you have the right attitude!

I still love my photo!
I know the crop basically killed my score, but one's and two's?
My own personal brown ribbon! Too bad, but someone had to come in 116th place... ha!

Sorry, this is out-of-focus. Cropping below the treeline could remove the overexposed sky and make for an interesting composition as well.

would benefit from sharper focus and light in eyes - too flat

USM will help your socring

the crop seems far too narrow to me

Such a long face, but sweet face.

unfortunately there are a couple of 'things' to improve (in my mind). while the composition is not bad at all, your choice of crop is a little too tight. You cropped off parts of the ears. While you tried to get the right eye into focus, the rest of the face is out of focus. A deeper DOF (smaller aperture value) would help here. The exposure is dead on. You did not lose any deatils in the whites. There are still some details visible.

Sharpness could have been crisper. The extreme tight crop does not do it for me.

Frame seems a little too tight to the head - including cutting off its ears. The eyes and nose are slightly oof.
