I was driving on the East side of San Antonio, not a place people typically go if they don't have to, but I actually like it because I love photographing the old worn houses. And ever so often, you can spot a scene like this, and add a favorite photo to your collection :) I don't know if my fellow dpc'ers will like it as much as I do (I'm sure not), but every time I look at it, it makes me happy.

There was a church festival going on, so I stopped to see if by chance there might be some interesting faces of character that wouldn't mind being photographed. The minute I saw these girls, my heart melted. They were neighbors, and the little one clung to the older one as if she were her protective knight in armour. I talked to the little one's mom a good while, and I'm sending her two copies of this. I got the feeling she doesn't have many photographs. When I told the older one how beautiful I thought she was, she lit up the whole place with a radiant beam :)

This is one of my favorites because it is a great story telling image; we so often miss the beauty found in poverty and the great light displayed by those who are so surrounded by darkness. Fantastic tribute to the strength of "man"!

You are seriously so magical. Your ability to enter the lives of strangers is such a gift. These two girls are gorgeous! I love this sweet innocent moment you got here. The fact that the mom is going to get to have a copy of this is even more special.

Just an idea for you. Someone mentioned this to me once and I've been keeping it in the back of my head until the right moment presents itself. Someone told me of his plan to do charity photoshoots at a women's shelter or some place like that where people are temporary residents. His motivation was like what you mentioned above: these families probably do not have photgraphic record of their families. I thought it was a great idea and hope to get that going here some day. I think you'd be perfect for it :)

This is my favorite kind of photograph - the kind that the photographer loves, the kind that makes little girls' eyes just light up and SHINE, and the kind that can be shared and appreciated. Excellent work, Sandy.

Sandy - such a delightful shot full of innocence and trust.

Beautifully captured and processed - I am sure the parents will be delighted with a copy of this shot !!

Unfortunately portraits rarely seem to do well in Free Studies, I'm not sure why . .

Sandy, I just realized this was yours.. I really liked this and gave it a good score. The expressions are priceless. I particularly like the dreamy looks in their eyes. It says so much and the title is perfect. Excellent image.
