 4th and a 7+! I can't believed this ended up in third, I have been trying to get a yellow ribbon for a long time! Very excited about that. :)
I feel bad for Tom's shot that was DQ'ed for loss of an original. Look at his shot too. :)

I didn't leave to shoot until an hour and half before rollover and by the time I got to this spot I realized I only had about 20 min to shoot if I wanted to upload for the challenge. I raced home and did a really fast edit and uploaded two minutes before rollover. glad I made it. :)

I used two graduated ND filters to tone down the sky. I did a 10 sec exposure and moved them up and down during the exposure to get an even gradient. In CS2, Convert Raw, shadows/highlights, Selective Color, crop, sharpen, Save for Web.

I shoot raw and jpeg. The left is the raw and the right was the jpeg which had a cloudy white balance. No other edits to them, you can see the bottom of the ND filters I was moving around.

i recalled years back when i was taking a vacation in the sea (yeah, fishing "house" on water), i tried to capture a sunrise which is so dramatic in colour and texture - and i failed on so many attempts, i gave up and simply took the sunrise in with my eyes. and so, your photo closely resemble what i failed to take that day, and so, good work - you're really good Joe!
