It seems that your images have become half photo and half art, created using your computer to get the image that you want to see. You are just too good at it. Your ability to create beauty in images has grown rapidly in the last year or two.
The saturation and sharpness in the subject works nicely with the overlaid background that you chose for it.

I like both versions for different reasons.
The dark background one has a harsh 'straight on' light like it was 'photographed' on a scanner. A few photographers have had great success with their scanner shots, so its not a bad thing. It certainly personifies death effectively.

The white background has a more optimistic look at death. Not so sad and gloomy.

Other one is ok. But I like the straw color against the space background of this one much better.

Very sad- conveys death & dormancy . The overlay colors really do this justice, Roz :)
