follow up from day 18 ..

the ewe had four lambs, which is extremely unusual .. she turned out to have no milk at all when the lambs were born and when the milk came she would only feed one of the them .. they will be bottle fed until weaned & until they get a bit stronger they are kept in the house/laundry at night but are with their mother and the other sheep during the day .. unfortunately she's only taken to one of them .. the very weakest of the lot & we arent sure whether it will survive.
this pic is my sister-in-law catherine, who owns the sheep, feeding one of the lambs .. the lamb the ewe has bonded with is the one lying down, which is why the ewe is in catherine's face .. she is not a pet or tame, and wouldnt usually let a person near her ..
a normal sized lamb would be about twice the size of this ewe's lambs.. one is out'v the pic ..

and four days old ...

five days old ..

I like the aged and slightly mishandled photo look. I hope those little lambs continue to do well.

Extraordinary. Classic composition, colours, tones. Like a nativity painting, yet clearly contemporary AND subject popping - the ewe.

Dang it Roz, this should be on the cover of a magazine.

It's outstanding. Yes, outstanding.

Another wonderful sheep shot. I love the expression on the ewe's face, kind of like, what are you doing to my kid. I know I got goats and sheep mixed here. I really love the family look of your sister-in-law with the sheep family. I wish them all well.

Amazing to see the emotion captured in the mother's face and body language. Keeping fingers crossed for the wee ones. :)

Wonderful shot Roz!

I do hope they all pull through, poor little babies have had such a tough start in life.

Awww - Lamb Drama - it's heart wrenching. I hope they all make it. And the ewe - you can tell she's anxious about her favorite baby.

Excellent image, Roz!! Love the colors and just the intensity of the situation you captured.
