This was such a fantastic idea, and brilliantly executed! I love the crisp iciness on the flower, yet the colors are still so fresh and vibrant. I love it!

Good job...now how do you get access to liquid Nitrogen?

Ahh yes, the liquid nitrogen. It wasn't LN2. It was a Dust Off can turned upside down. The gases used to pressurize the can are very cold and that's what spurts out if turned upside down and used. I sprayed this liquid/gas stuff over the flower and waited until it froze up and during that time this shot was taken because of the beautiful trails of water vapor. I was amazed at the delicacy of the misty trails and wanted that to show up, couldn't care about the flower any more at that point.

Maybe a physicist can explain what exactly is going on here.

Thanks for the comps and comments everyone. :D

Great shot - I like the trails particularly. I think it would be better if the tweezers (or whatever) were out of the frame, but overall, nice job.

Really cold looking, nice lighting and colors. The two trails coming down from the flower are a little distracting. Still very nice.

This is a brilliant idea and well lit. I will have to complain about the metal rod on the top. Without that this would be a top image in this challenge.

The gold attracts my attention, but I like the lighting in this image.

the ghosting particales takes away from crispness and the icyness of the flower.

this is pretty cool. only my second photograph that I'm rating, but I predict it will do well in its uniqueness. Love the trails.

Beautiful shot (although, the faint white trail lines below the blossom are slightly distracting.)
