Another difficult challenge for me. Not because I do a lot of landscapes ;-) but because there was no particular challenge description. A free study without landscapes and no ideas for me.
In my mind I went through the things I really like photographing (liquids, glass, feathers, paper) and decided on paper.
I put yellow pages into the books (yellow because it looks good when converted to b/w). Balanced the books on other books so that that I could photograph from below. I liked the way it turned out.
There are so many really great images in this challenge. I’m very honoured to have 4th place. Thank you.
Also thanks to Enzo hotpasta for reminding me about my D2X ;-) it certainly did me well in this challenge.

I love the shapes and colours of this one. Even though you know what it is you're looking at you still try to percieve it as another strange world...

If anyone wonders why Irene wins so many ribbons, this picture is a good example. While this image did not win a ribbon, I wonder how many of us could have made as much out of a few sheets of paper and a couple of books.

Your creativity and imagination are amazing!

Excellent photo....

I had 7.0165 around 11 p.m. just before I went to bed last night, but by this morning at 6 a.m. (rollover time in Germany) it was down to 6.9. No problem. I'm happy with my score and placing, and pleased for you that your image did so well.

That's just amazing for paper. At first glance I thought it was some kind of modern structure.

I always fall for these things. I usually prefer multiple colors, but you have done a great job with this, simple and elegant

great simplicity and clarity. I like how this photo is based on symmetry but then still shows slight differences.

Stunning composition. The tumbnail makes the paper appear to be flowing out of two pipes. Having the pages of one book darker than the other provides an interesting contrast. Love the originality.

I really like this.. a lot. I'm impressed, mostly because I could never be this creative and even if I came up with the idea, I'd never be able to pull it off. Great color and composition. Tack sharp and wonderfully lit. Here's my 10 and I hope to see you ribbon. Great photo.
