AMAZING and AVERAGE, too.

He had Brains, Good Looks, Athletic, above the average. He even talked back to his parents at times, like the average teenager becoming independent.

I thought he had a messy room, who doesn't at times.

I though he shouldn't wear sandles without socks. After rethinking and coming to the conclusion. I said Who cares, that was just my own preference, there are somethings more important in life. So I wore sandles with a suit at his funeral.

Cars had no air bags or seat belts at one time. Currently the FAA requires TCAS in only planes carrying 35 or more passengers. We need to protect our future pilots!

Some of his Achievements: Ice Hockey: CSHL League Champions, Achieved Eagle Scout in the B.S.A. Boy Scouts of America. He could swim a mile and got a Life Saving merit badge. Worked 3-4 hours and paid for his own trip to Europe in his senior year. Did all his homework in study halls and got on the Honor Roll in his Senior year at St. Eds H.S.
Got his Solo Flight and VFR Visual Flight Rules Pilot Licence.
At Brownstone Day Care, at 4 years of age He directed several kids to re-enact a Ice Hockey commercial he saw on TV.

Here is another amazing "Coincidence".
There have been several "Coincidences" since Oct. 14, 2005, but this seems to be quite surprising.

Our house address was 1549 for over twenty years, which was the Flight Number of the plane that landed on the Hudson River on January 17, 2009.

When Chris was young he was even afraid of birds flying close to him at the Zoo. As a Student Pilot he said his worst fear is birds getting into the engine. Somehow I think he may have helped save that plane.

The pain of a parent losing a child must be unbearable. I respect you and reach out to hold you tight as a brother does. I promise to look out for him when I get there.

This is a lovely tribute. I'm so sorry you lost your son so soon. He sounds and looks like a fine young man. I can tell from your post in the thread about my daughter, that you are still suffering from this loss. But take heart, a good friend of mine, who lost her son, promised me that the current feelings of grief will eventually be replaced by the memories you choose to keep. I believe her.

Thank you for sharing your son with us.

I'm SO SORRY that you've had to loose such a blessing - so young.

I cannot imagine (actually don't want to imagine) loosing my children.

I admire your attitude.

I loved that you wore sandals to his funeral.

How tragic. My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm sure there is a hole in your hearts that can never be repaired.

I'm glad to hear that the memories you have of him are of a strong, joyful young man.

Peace

John, somehow, I missed your heartbreaking tragedy. Whenever I hear of someone I know having to face this kind of loss, it feels like someone stabbed me in the heart with a knife. Your son was beautiful! I am still crying 4 months after my cocker spaniel died, I honestly don't know how one survives something of this magnitude.

I wish a hug could make it better. But even 4 years after it happened, I bet somedays the hurt still feels like it just happened yesterday. :(
