This is an old window frame suspended from a custom wooden thingy I built to hold it, and the entire contraption is sitting on top of a guard rail off of Highway 49 over-looking the American River in Auburn, CA.

Slight color adjustment of the sky color and frame color. Curves, Burn/dodge the mountains a little. Left the water alone. Slight USM on only the scenary (not the window frame).

Now I know what to do if I find an old window lying around!;-) An excellent idea, because it draws the eye to see what is 'outside'. Looks awfully high up though. Great shot.

This looks like you shot the photo through a window sash that you brought to this location. If so, it's a great idea. In fact, it's my idea! :) I was going to do something similar, but couldn't find a window sash to use. Anyway, you did a great job!

Looks like you dragged a window out into the wilderness...
If the window frame had lay in shadows it would have been a bit more believable.

Seems kind of unlikely for interior light to be striking the window just like that :-) Is this a case of taking a window to a location and shooting through it? Full marks for endeavour, then.

Too bad you didn't have some of the wall instead of cropping to the window frame...for some reason this does not look real. Beautiful view! Lucky you if this is a view from your place!!!

Since this view is of one of my favorite spots on earth I'll just have to give it the highest vote. I lived 20 years of my life with this river in my backyard I hope to live the next 20 years with it in my back (or front yard). The dirt roads to the old fishing holes are now paved to subdivisions., no wonder - it's God's country! The best I can figure with this photo is that you put that window frame out near a great view of the river and snapped a fantastic shot ! If not & you want to sell your house please do get in touch! It still looks like GOD's country to me... might this be just above Slab Creek Dam hard to tell withthis shot if its North or South of the river, perhaps as far east as Swansboro Country?

Beautiful. But given we are lookng at what I suspect is the outside of a window, yet lookng out, I am guessing you brought this window to the site to shoot through it. In any case, it works well.

Is that window from a program or was it really there above the river like that?

The window is so bright, sharp and colorful that it competes for attention with the landscape. Feels almost like two images (I assume it is not).

My only complaint is you didn't include all the window frame. Otherwise great image.
