===================================

thanks for the great comments and thanks to undieyatch for mentioning this on my ribbons thread. skew and I stumbled on these horses while we were scouting for landscape locations. They were hanging out on a forested ridge (next to a field). It was strange to see horses in forest. This horse was standing on a rather narrow ledge.

Blending the green channel with itself led to a very interesting black and white image.

I tried to favorite this again. Didn't work. I really like the comments this has generated - almost as much fun to come back and read them as it is to simply just visit the shot again.

This is definitely a photo with a story behind it. Is the horse taking a nap and wearing one of those masks to block out the light? :D Love how Colleen put in a photo with an emphasis on seeing and yours is just the opposite. Quite a tag team you two make.

The frankness of the composition is what really makes the surreality of your subject go through the roof. Made me think of this image.

Wonderful texture study to start, then it goes beyond into something that makes you wonder.

Maybe a tad to much contrast... parts of the horse seem to blend n with the dark background.
