Hollow bulb, upside down hanging and filled with water. Red food colouring added and many many tries. I hate and love shooting random events.

As always, looking for a 6+ ;-)

Thanks for the great result. I forgot to change the title with the last minute change of image though. Doh!
A mushroom cloud was what I was trying for and the image I had in my head. Kept getting random smoke like patterns instead, until this one.
Thanks Kali for the UpsyDaisy.

this very good photo and idea and execution, maybe the best one.
okay the execution could be a little better in my opinion but the frame is what killed the photo for sure,
if i voted i would voted it 6 just because of the frame which is way over the top, i mean it is absolutely not needed here

nice result at the end :-)

Already left you a comment during the challenge, great explanation of how you achieved this, great shot

I used to know a guy who made these cool glass "mushroom" earrings which looked very similar to the effect you got with this one.

I've tried to create that "mushroom cloud" effect with two liquids myself -- your result is far better than anything I've gotten. :-)

Excellent image, Owain. Love the colours and it's a very creative idea (must try it ;-)

Looks like we had the same idea! Congrats on your great score and placement. I guess the voters liked your no-water-line version better. :)
