Hi Tim,

I know it's been awhile since this challenge has ended but I wasn't around back then when this masterpiece was created! Since the version 4 of this challenge just got announced, I figured this would be the perfect time for me to make a comment on this image by saying how much I love your attitude, your outlook on life, and the kind of photos you take. I also wanted to ask you to please enter in the 4th version of this challenge that just got announced and totally disregard how it would finish. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with next. Don't worry where it will rank because some people will hate it no matter what, but one thing they cannot deny is the fact that whether they love it or hate it, they WILL remember it and that is what it's all about! Good luck!

I just wish I had your creativity, Tim. But, as a photo, well, clearly it deserved a 1. I mean:
- there's a visible hot spot on your forehead
- one of the beer cans isn't crushed
- the ketchup smear should've been tilted 2.8 degrees further to the right for maximum effect
- your mouth is closed; what a wasted opportunity
- the chair's shadow greatly distracts me
- there's a mark on the wall on the right side
- your shirt is blown out
- you're not a sexy, scantily clad, young woman

So although we're friends, had I been voting, I woulda nailed ya.

(Note to the humor-impaired: this is a JOKE)

Have you gone to weight watchers yet buddy?

(Just wanted to lighten up the discussion. Just a joke people!)

Tim, I love your photography and I love you! Enzo

Hah, wasn't sure if it was you or the missus who took this. Either way, I thought it was a fun idea well worth entering for the chuckles. Thanks for making voting a pleasure and congrats for the top 10 finish!

Also, please tell me you don't drink that nasty canned beer...at least drink something in a bottle!!

Well done mate, "bravo" and if I had done this, I think DPC would have folded for sure, as the system would have completely broken down..... I am so pleased you are yourself, and this is awesome, and so suits the challenge. Thank you for being you.....

Just a quick comment on others comments. Everyone is free to say what they want. I doubt I would have gone as far as some have but it really is no big deal to me. This site is a game and everyone learns how to play the way they want to play. Commenting is just part of that game. It's a bummer that some people dislike what I do, but you cant please everyone.

A quick comment on friend voting - Look at my score histogram. Did this shot deserve the 1s, 2s, and 3s? How many non "friend" 1 votes does it take to counteract the "friend" votes? I know people know me here and I know many people recognize my images but I do not intentionally try to appeal to my "freinds" for higher votes. And if I was then I have been failing hard because alot of my past "recognizable" entries have not even come close to ribboning.

And a quick comment on what I shoot. I shoot what I like. I shoot what I am good at. I shoot what I want to. I dont shoot macros, I rarely shoot landscapes, I dont shoot wine glasses. I like shooting people, I like shooting my kids, I like shooting humourous images. Many of the images that I shoot for challenges end up on my walls. Aimee and I want to start a portrait business so DPChallenge offers us that playground to experiment and try out new ideas. So I shoot people. And I enter people. I also enter these images on other sites. And guess what - they score high and ribbon. And considering I rarely vote or comment on those sites you would think the scores and awards would be lower since I dont have any "friends" over there. But yet they do very well. Not sure why.

Overall though this site is a game. Relax and play. Use it to improve what you do. Dont stress over what others are doing. Have fun, play, learn, experiment, make friends. Dont let yourself get caught up in frustration and anger. It's a game!

And just a side note. What I found particularly amusing was that some comments that were left on this entry may have fit this particular challenge better than many of the top 10 entries.

I'm certain you have just lost any respect that people had for you beforehand.

This is a purposely hurtful comment, and you know that.

Whether this photographer has self confidence issues or not is 1. Absolutelly nothing to do with you, and is certainly not for you to pass comment on, and 2. Announcing your "feeling" towards his confidence levels in front of 100s of people is very childish.

You need to grow up and stop being a bitter, jealous person.

To be honest with you Jon it seems you are the 3 year old girl throwing a tantrum. So here it is the comment you were waiting for to validate your sour grapes. Tim is my boy and I am in a sense defending him at the same time flaming you. If only you would have commented on the concept and photography and not the man, it just smacks of jealousy and I can't believe Tim checked your comment as helpful. I would have checked it "childish". :-/

@ Tim I will deleted this comment if you want. Just PM me and it will be done. You have a thicker skin than I. It is a real bummer about the haters and I have never in my almost 3 years here seen a comment like that BS.

ROFLMAO about the photo and about the arguing. Calm down folks!! This is just a game :-). Tim, how about waxing your abs for your next entry ? Your wife should put you in jail man!!

Men Behaving Badly, so true. Is this one Sloth or Greed? I am certainly entertained, and entertained as well by your score-histogram. The angle of the shot, from above, particularly works well. When I read the title, I first thought you had misspelled "Pilates", which is also funny.

You always have entertaining photographs. I think if you would've put the chair in a more common location, such as a living room, the shot would've been better.

I like where you're going with this, I just wish you would have taken it further. Show more empty beer cans and food wrappers and food crumbs.. maybe even show him passed out in the chair holding half a hamburger...with a little sloppier face...
The surroundings look like a house under construction, more of an environmental shot would perhaps be more appropriate shot.

Ah yes, how predictable. The photographic equivalent of a three year old girl pulling her dress over her head at a party or a three year old boy learning the word ‘poopie’ and repeating it ad nauseum...attention seeking and not funny.

To be honest I wish this was my only issue with this photo but it isn’t. My big problem is the fact that this encourages friends voting and therefore means that others who are not quite as active on the forums as you are will finish lower down in a challenge than they should. Any regular on DPC will recognise this as you and because there is – as with many clubs – a clique then you will get higher votes from your friends than this image deserves. Ultimately I believe that this sort of thing is one of the main reasons that some photographers choose not to enter competitions or to leave DPC entirely (I would also point out that you are not the only person who does this but in my opinion are by far the worst offender)

The funny thing is that when the last image of you didn’t garner high votes from everyone you indulged in some ‘soul searching’ in the forums. Were you surprised when your friends told you that it was a great photograph and very funny? Hmmmm I think the vast majority of people who thought it wasn’t probably kept quiet possibly for fear that they would incur the wrath of the in-crowd

I really don’t know what is sadder

1. That you are actually a photographer with a lot of talent (certainly more technical skill than me) and if you expanded your boundaries rather than restricted yourself by them then you could GENUINELY (and not just through friend voting) be one of the exemplars on this site

2. That this was so utterly predictable. As soon as I saw the challenge last week I knew exactly what kind of photo you would post (although I am a little surprised that you failed to don your ‘hilarious’ tooth fairy outfit)

I have no doubt that this comment will bring about both a wave of ‘Timmy’ sympathy and a lot of flaming for me. Given this and the fact that this shot will score well for the reasons stated before you may well feel vindicated by this shot. Please don’t kid yourself this image is as good as it scores and do us (or at least me) a favour and vary your subject matter in the future. I am sure that if you do the results will be way way more impressive -as they have been in the past when you have avoided taking photos of subjects that can be immediately associated with you (and sorry I refute the argument that you don’t have many ‘models’ to choose from, because not every picture has to be of a person)

Finally – and this may be crossing the border between what is acceptable in a comment, which if it does then I do apologise for – This sort of picture suggests that you may have some fairly significant self esteem issues. If you ask a proper doctor about this sort of behaviour then they will tell you that it does not display self confidence in ones appearance but rather indicates a need for validation by trying to turn deficiencies into a joke and thus trying to deflect themselves from real issues of concern.
