No lizards were harmed during the making of this image. The fly, however, was extremely harmed. Sorry -- I hunted him for two days...

"Kids! Don't let the fly out!" *Kids roll eyes at Mom*

Anyway, I had the lizard in the freezer from my last shot (Chemistry Challenge -- he was deceased for that shot, too) just for such an occasion. Little did I know it would come so soon!

Life is good. *smile*

Anyway, to the store for chalk, tweezers to position the fly and the fly leg near the mouth... snap away at the crime scene. :) I actually had to take the kids to Waffle House to get the second dead fly from the window sill and pull off its leg... The food was good, though. *grin*

I messed with it pretty much... "How to make a dead lizard look semi-attractive?" I used the on-board flash, but it was too harsh, and I don't have any other lighting... so I flashed it through a clear, plastic container.

Shadow/Highlight, Dodge/Burn, Sharpen, Saturation, Clone out ugly spots from leaves and rock floor, I might have done a light mask of Lucis, Reduce, Neat Image, USM, Save for Web.

Cool shot Lydia - the only suggestion I might have made as it was meant to be a crime scene would be to title it something like 'The Case of the Poisoned Housefly' :- )

Nice work though :- )

LOL! Don't know how I missed this one - how very delightful (in a "it's a bummer he's dead but nice use of the lizard" sort of way.)

My mind churns at what made you see this and set it up.
I can see a dead lizard, but the fly! I like the way your brain works - it's just off the beaten path to admired for it's uniqueness.

Or maybe from eating flies sprayed with various toxins ... excellent set-up.

This is absolutely funny. But how did you do that?

When I see photos like this I immediately think that it's Arts work. Whoever you are - this gave me a laugh, love your idea.

Cool!
Well, the stomach doesn't look overfilled (still real cool). Maybe the colors are a bit under-saturated (or was that on purpose?)

LOL...I think it would have been better to shoot this from slightly higher so we could see the outline better and to get rid of the distracting background...it also lacks a little punch, so levels adjustment and contrast and a little tweaking would have lifted this...I like your title 6

What does this picture justice is the fly. It made me laugh. Just the lizard itself I don't think I would have scored it as high. The fly adds it all to this. What may have been funnier is if you took off a wing or it's head and put it in the lizards mouth.

This is creepy! I would have liked a stronger green in the fly and the background leaves are distracting. Could have cloned out the dark item by his nose. Overall, I like it
