 The Image: Took this under daylight 5000k flouro lights. Tripod. 105mm 2.8 Macro. It was in a clear glass coffee cup. It was a little detergent in water, shaken not stirred :)

The Edit: Levels, USM, Noise Ninja, Smart Sharpen, Contrast, B and W with tint, cloned out sensor dust. Not in that order.

The Prediction: Either over 7, or just over 5. This could fly anywhere!

Post: Irene wins again! she is amazing isn't she? Yellow yet again for me and believe me I am not complaining. Lovely to win this. ) for the votes and comments. Now, to keep chasing Irene... :)

BTW, I got the scientific formula for detergent off the net, but I am not sure if it is right...

LOL I would've guessed it was glycerine! Mixed with H2O that's what they use to make beads of sweat on actors. cool shot!

Gee..... I really do like this image, especially the color and the metallic look..... Yes this is my second comment but I just had to share my feelings..... By the way I gave this one a 10.....

Ahhhhh! Detergent! I was looking for some sort of highly explosive acid that turns aluminum into gold or something. I guuess I CAN do this at home! Great shot, and congratulations on the ribbon!

Glad to see I can still pick out a ribbon :-) This was my favourite of the whole challenge. Great work Mr Maisano, you're on sparkling form at the moment! (no pun intended)

This would look great with a large print IMO. 640 pixels just doesn't do it justice.

I Just LOVED this, everything about it.
The detail, the composition, the metallic look, the color tones, and the bubbles, just completely brilliant.....

It was my pick for the BLUE.....

A very strong abstract shot, I'm going to assume you know what those chemical compounds in the title are and am not going to bother looking them up :)

Theres a lot to like here - the lighting is subtle and effective, it doesn't draw attention to itself and instead focuses on your subject which is exactly how lighting should work, but seldom does.

The contrast and clarity of the bubbles make them a really strikig subject and this offset with the smooth background adds a sense of drama that works really well.

My only slight niggle is the top left corner - I think you just caught the edge of the container that this was being shot in? Overall 8.

Wrong formula..you forgot a +CH3--SCO2 in beweeen the center CH2's. I will have to substract a couple of points for that mistake...and another one for shoehorning the challenge.....7
