I really wanted to have an image in this challenge as my own little acknowledgment of the pleasure of having shared this site with a photographer of such high caliber as Sean.

15 Second Exposure, wide angle lens pointing towards the treeline in the distance. I was in it for about half of the time. The light in the background is the almost-full moon and some ambient light coming from the 'burbs. The white dots are stars, not embers.

I had this idea for the shot but regrettably did not have enough time to really make it come to fruition; but I'm still happy with the result and extremely pleased to see the great comments and the faves.

If I had it to do over again, I would make the face more of a profile view and get the nose and other facial features recognizable. I would have also picked a better treeline and made it more distinct/clear. I also would have been more careful with my editing.

PP: Emphasized the natural vignette with an overlay layer, curves work, Neat Image, USM, s4w.

RIP Sean

Oooh I thought this would have scored higher. I planned on coming back after the challenge to see how you did this. This has a cool Indiana Jones vibe. A very nice tribute indeed and a very cool picture.

sky cinema. I hope you did this with a double exposure and not a computer monitor. It's a startling effect. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and a 10.

Good tribute shot. I'm trying to figure out the details. Is this supposed to be a spirit in a campfire (which would explain the sharp white sparks and soft focus and colored cowboy)? It looks like the cowboy had the sun behind him. I'm wondering how you achieved the lighting. You did a good job.

I do not like the mix of hard noise and noise reduction filtering
