Location: North Fork American River

Not many entries in this one, I think I am going top 50!! :P Shot from the bottom of a canyon at the confluence of the North Fork of the American River. Pretty happy with the noise with the D200 on this one. Sometimes the night shots gets really noisy.
A few levels changes selectively and a selective color with slight tweaks to blue. Most editing was sharpening and resizing in steps to get to bring out the star trails.
Hope it does well, I like the deep black foreground, probably could have gone for a few more minutes.
shot at 22 mm, for those interested.
Post challenge: Snuck into top 10! Many commented no the bridge OoF but I think it was my editing. I tried to get the stars as sharp as possible to make them brighter, but it oversharpened the bridge so I masked that out. But I think I should have have worked on it more. Thanks for the votes and comments. :)

Love how black you have got the foreground, and the stars are amazing.

Good luck

Amazing star trails! The sharpness of the foreground contrasts well with the circular motion of the sky.

I'd like to learn how you set up this shot.

The inclusion of the bridge had made this photo unique as compared with the rest....hence, a great foreground

Most photos like these use long capture times. I like this one because its shorter. You can see the effect of declination by the length of the trails! Love it.

I have seen several similar photos, but the bridge backdrop really makes this shot...very nice.

Great image. The use of the wide angle with the star trails gives the image a sense of motion, if not dizziness.

Wow a terrible tension is revealed between the static bridge and the dynamic sky, but it kind of makes me dizzy.

This is interesting. I can't tell if it is oof or not...see the bridge line.

The bridge isn't moving and yet there seems to be a hint of motion there.

For me, the red lights are what I see first, but as they are part of the structure, not much you could do about them.

Striking sense of movement here.

Great composition. First, it is quite dramatic. The red lights add the right touch, and having the center of the star movement in the photo makes it tops. The curvature of the black ground following the movement of the stars is icing on the cake. Superb!

I start all my scores off at 10 and look for things that make it not be a 10. To me, it looks like you've tried to sharpen a photo that was not quite in perfect focus. ( I know, it's star trails and they sometimes have that look.) It looks over-sharpened to me but still a very lovely photo. 8

Cool look to the stars, the red lights add that extra touch. I wish the bridge were more focused.
