 The photographic definiton of exposure:

a. the act of presenting a photosensitive surface to rays of light.

b. the total amount of light received by a photosensitive surface or an area of such a surface, expressed as the product of the degree of illumination and the period of illumination.

c. the image resulting from the effects of light rays on a photosensitive surface.

My first submission in 18 months. I could not resist the subject as I have a thing for boats. I went down to the harbour to photograph some boats when I saw this boat with a cover that was loose and blowing in the wind. I Made a few shots with a low viewpoint and a long exposure so that the cover would make a blur in the sky.

ooo, lovely colours, tones, colours, o, and those colours... this is another that grabs you in the guts. the left side, so crisp and clean, the right a chaos of shadows and motion. the anarchy threatening to overtake the order. and those blues...mmmmm.....

Not sure what this is, but I'm sure it has to do with boats, and the visual expression is extremely powerful

This is different! I love the left side of the photo. I can't figure out what the motion is, though. Can't be a mast. A boat cover/tarp maybe? I'm stumped! But it's cool.
