Location: Altona Pier, Melbourne Australia
Date: May 21, 2008

The Image: A rush job on the day of the deadline. Clouds were looming all over the city so I headed to my favourite location at Williamstown yet again and got this image.

The Edit: Duotone, Levels, Curves, Contrast adjustment. A little Smart Sharpen and Noise Reduction.

The Prediction: Looks like a big challenge, and apart from my yellow ribbon in the ABC Challenge, things haven't been great this week with scores in the 5's. Perhaps 6.2 would be nice.

Post Challenge: WOW! I never expected this! Thank you everyone.

I appreciate every ribbon I get...I seem to get a lot of yellow ones!

I didn't think this was a particularly good edit and was regretting entering it, but the voters were so kind. It's not my best image by a long shot, so I am humbled by the award.

I wish I could have entered this under ADVANCED EDITING. I think I would have done such a better job of bringing out the mood and atmosphere.

Thanks again everyone. Enzo.

The swirl of clouds is amazing. It's like something big is about to engulf the city. The color tone of the water is beautiful too. Congrats on the yellow!

Stunning and dramatic shot, the clouds are just so ominous looking. Excellent work, Enzo. Isn't 7.1 much nicer than your predicted 6.2? ;-)

the properties of a storm must be perfect and this one is close to it when it comes to such irate skies.

Enzo does it again... most definitely have your mojo back. Well done!

A beautiful photo. If only my "Boats" entry was half as good as this.

I look forward to finding out some of you secrets at the next Melbourne Connect.

looks much like Enzo's work, but the procesing is not as good as usual. If it is you: how often do you think you will get through with this?
Seriously: good toning and composition; horizon looks slightly tilted to the right; a tad too dark in the water, some blown lights in the clouds, some distracting spots at left side. I'm afraid this won't make it to the top.
